The enhancement of overall healthcare quality is the aim of these electronic medical records. An electronic medical record includes clinical, monetary, demographic, and coded healthcare data.

A computerised version of the paper record known as an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) securely preserves information and makes it accessible to other authorised users and practitioners. It is an electronic version of the patient's medical record that is kept up to date and contains all information relevant to the patient's treatment under a specific doctor, such as demographics, progress notes, issues, medication, vital signs, previous medical history, immunizations, laboratory information, and radiology reports.

An electronic health record is a digital copy of a patient's medical files. The health record is assembled, created, and stored electronically (EHR). Due to the desire for cutting-edge healthcare facilities, EHRs are being adopted by healthcare providers. Administrative tasks, computerised physician order entry, lab systems, radiology systems, pharmacy systems, and clinical recording are the essential elements of an EHR. Age, gender, ethnicity, health history, medications, allergies, immunisation status, lab test results, hospital discharge instructions, and billing information are all included in the Electronic Medical Records (EHR).

The highest growth in demand for web-based Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) is projected throughout the forecast period. Due to their modest hardware requirements and lower installation costs, these EHRs are practical for usage in pharmacies, small laboratories, and clinics. Given the emphasis on minimising face-to-face contact between patients and medical staff alike to limit the transmission of the disease, the need to maintain EHRs was highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in the medical industry are a real-time digital depiction of patient medical data. Medical specialists from different medical services associations can use electronic health records to view, enter, and amend patient information. Patients can access their own accounts and check the status of their own medical data by logging in to them.

EHRs are real-time, patient-centered digital records that make patient information instantaneously and securely accessible to qualified healthcare practitioners. The patient's medical history, prescriptions, allergies, treatment plans, diagnoses, immunisation dates, radiological pictures, and laboratory test results are all included in the record.
