Bio Based Chemicals are those made from biomass or biological sources like corn, sugar, cellulosic feedstock, and biodegradable waste. Various sectors are being forced to switch to bio-based goods because of the decreasing petroleum sources from which conventional chemicals are created and the rising pollution levels. Chemicals known as "bio-based chemicals" are substances produced fully or in part from biological resources, including biomass, feedstock, plants, algae, crops, trees, marine life, and biological waste. Since they don't release harmful pollutants or degrade the environment when disposed, products created with bio-based chemicals are environmentally friendly. 

Bio Based Chemicals including sugar, corn, biodegradable waste, cellulose feedstock, or biomass are used to make bio-based compounds. Numerous sectors are seeing an increase in demand for these compounds, including the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive, textile, and other sectors. This increase in demand is brought on by the depletion of petroleum reserves and the decreasing supply of traditional products derived from fossil fuels.

 

Products made from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine, and forestry elements are known as Bio Based Chemicals. Non-food starch, cellulose fibers and derivatives, tall oils, fatty acids, and fermentation products like ethanol and citric acid are a few examples of bio-based compounds.

One way to make Bio Based Chemicals is through anaerobic digestion or fermentation of biodegradable materials, syngas, and biofine processes. Bio-based chemicals are employed in a number of processes, including the creation of synthesis gas and biogas. In the agricultural industry, bio-based chemicals are also employed as fertilizers and pesticides.

Recycling of bio-based chemical products is also a significant problem because, if not separated from conventional chemical products, bio-based chemicals could contaminate the recycling process.

As an alternative to typical petroleum-derived products, these compounds can be employed.
