Glycol Ethers are a type of organic solvents based on ethers on ethylene glycol or propylene glycol. These solvents are frequently used in paints and cleansers and have high boiling temperatures. Depending on whether they are formed from propylene oxide or ethylene oxide, glycol ethers are classified as either E-series or P-series. Most sunscreens, inks, medicines, and cosmetics use glycol ethers from the E class. In contrast, P-series are used in adhesives, spray paints, cleansers, and degreasers. The majority of glycol ethers are water soluble, biodegradable, and just a small number are thought to be hazardous. Due to their propensity to dissolve in both water and organic liquids, glycol ethers are widely utilized as solvents.

P series. Only a handful of these solvents are regarded as harmful, and the
majority are water-soluble and biodegradable.
